All Superior Security officers are certified by CLEET – Council on Law
Enforcement and Education Training – which takes 12 weeks. In addition,
Superior conducts continuing education of its security force according
to criminal trends and acts within society and our community. Listed
are some of the subjects emphasized in yearly mandatory training: •
Firearms training: All armed officers must re-qualify twice each year
to maintain armed status with Superior. Requirements include 8 hours of
firearms training by a certified arms and law enforcement range master
instructor. Includes care and use of weapons, weapons techniques,
building clearance, vehicle approach, firing range qualification and
classroom discussion. • Domestic and International Terrorism •
Defensive Driving • First Aid/CPR Certification: Provided by American
Red Cross. • Public Relations: Dealing with the public, consumers,
management and employees on client property while enforcing security
measures. • Reporting: Preparation and submission of reports (oral and
written) at each assigned post. Including emphasis on chronological
reports of activity. • Violence in the Workplace: This curriculum has
been added for preparation in the event of an incident in the client’s
workplace and for at-risk work environment behavior. • Client On-Site
Training: Each officer assigned to a post is trained on requirements of
the client’s post orders and on-site environmental situations. Each
security officer is required to re-read all post instructions every six
months, and officers at some locations are tested. A passing grade in
training is required for continued employment at Superior Security. All
instructors are industry-certified, state-certified or law enforcement
officials. Superior Security continually seeks out new methods and
technology by which to train personnel. Superior Security maintains
close supervision of employees at every level. In an effort to maintain
constant and exceptional quality, supervisors are on duty 24 hours a
day and are accessible to clients as well as officers. Regular and
unscheduled site inspections are made by supervisors, the security
chief and director. Superior Security and Investigations is an Equal
Opportunity Employer.
